Notes
CLOSING_STATUS 'O' = open, 'C' = closed, 'F' = future-enterable, 'N' = never opened, 'P' = permanently closed.

GL ledgers, periods and journal import
A ledger (GL_LEDGERS) has a chart of accounts, currency and calendar; period open/close is GL_PERIOD_STATUSES per application. External journals stage in GL_INTERFACE for Import Journals, which creates GL_JE_BATCHES / GL_JE_HEADERS / GL_JE_LINES, and GL_IMPORT_REFERENCES keeps the drilldown to the subledger.
