How Subledger Accounting (SLA) generates journals

Every subledger transaction (AP invoice, AR transaction, asset addition, cost transaction) that runs Create Accounting generates an XLA_AE_HEADERS/XLA_AE_LINES accounting event first — SLA's own rule-driven layer — which is then transferred to GL_JE_HEADERS/GL_JE_LINES as the actual GL journal. This is why subledger accounting rules can be customized per ledger without changing the subledger transaction tables themselves.

Subledger Accounting (XLA) event model

Each subledger transaction is an entity (XLA_TRANSACTION_ENTITIES) that raises accounting events (XLA_EVENTS). Create Accounting turns events into journal headers/lines (XLA_AE_HEADERS / XLA_AE_LINES); XLA_DISTRIBUTION_LINKS ties each transaction distribution to its journal line, and GL_IMPORT_REFERENCES bridges the posted GL line back to XLA.
